The prototypes for silver jelwery ornamented with rock crystal date from the 11th century. These pieces were made in the Slavic regions of the Central and Eastern Europe. The pendent, which was discovered under the floor of the Lempäälä church, came to Finland via Gotland island, off the southern coast of Sweden. The filigree brooch was found at Humikkala in MAsku and the ring at Kekomäkin in Kaukola. It had come to Karelia from Moravia via Novgorod and Kiev.
