The unbroken circle of the ring has traditionally been linked with the concepts of magical power and protection. This belief is likely to have affected the tradition of exhanging rings at the start of a marriage; the ring is the symbol of an eternal bond. In many cultures, the wedding ring is always placed on the left ring finger. This is because it was belived that vena amoris, the “love vein” to the heart, begins in this finger. Rings have been decorated with engraved designs or embedded with precious stones. Geometrical designs are almost the eldest ornamental themes, but the thenes of classical Greek art also continue to charm with their beauty. Kalevala Jewelry´s gold rings reflect the timeless beauty of ancient decorative motifs.
