Ahti is known in Finnish folk tales as the god of sea and waves. It has been told that people prayed Ahti especially for luck in fishing. The fish portrayed as filigree figures in the jewellery promise good luck. The shape resembling the point of Ahti’s fish spear is combined with a strap of black leather. The Ahti jewellery and that of his spouse, Vellamo, combine folklore motifs with modern design language. Design Päivi Harjuhaahto.
