Kalevala Jewelry is a treasure trove of Finnish jewelry at its finest. Museum pieces date from long ago, but the past 50 years have also seen the creating of many new expressions fo Finland’s stong, original culture. In 1947, Kalevala Jewelry arranged the first competition to establish a modern Finnish jewelry tradition. Designer Kirsti Ilvessalo is said to have taken her prize-winning motif form the poor boxes of old churces. Her Doll design has become a Kalevala Jewelry classic.
