Jewelry designer and goldsmith Saija Saarela who has worked for Kalevala Jewelry since 1995 believes in sustainable development. She isn’t fascinated by the rapidly changing disposable culture but she truly appreciates continuum of the traditions of old craftsmanship. When designing jewelry she studies, processes and puts herself into her work until she feels the piece of jewelry as her own. Through experiments and success also the piece of jewelry processes her.
