Antti-Johan Kettunen

Antti-Johan Kettunen, a 2005 graduate of the Kuopio Academy of Design, strives to break the typical boundaries of jewelry. His challenge is to link the stories and ideas in his mind to the jewelry and thus bring added value to the wearer of the jewelry.

According to Kettunen, he draws the inspiration for his designs from his personal “design environment.” Everything around us – people, animals, nature, events and chance encounters – affects a designer’s life and work. In addition to the world happening around him, Kettunen is a keen follower of Finnish and international fashion.

The most challenging aspect of design is to create something that no one else has ever created before. Once a piece of jewellery is completed, the most rewarding experience is to see the satisfied smile on the customer’s face.
